Ray Weaver

"…a master storyteller who knows how to wrap an intensely personal cloak." J. Doug Gill, Musicians Monthly

Ray Weaver is first and foremost, a writer. He has the rare ability to transform life into songs and stories that are intensely personal, yet still touch a universal chord.

"The writing talent here is really pretty formidable," said Doug Floyd of altcountrytab.com. "The names of Steve Earle, Townes van Zandt and Guy Clark all spring to mind."

The Danish artist Jes Holtsø chose to use only Ray Weaver songs for both of his English language CDs. The CDs - and the songs - co-written with pianist and producer Morten Wittrock, received rave reviews from both the press and the public.

"These are strong, intimate songs - a great mix of soul, blues and groovy funk. The recordings are rootsy and simple. The result is a personal and live-affirming history of life's ups and downs, pain, luck, love and joy - in short...THE BLUES!" Copenhagen Blues Festival.

The second Jes Holtsø CD was nominated for a Danish Grammy Award and won Jes the "Blues Personality of the Year" Award from the Copenhagen Blues Society.

Ray also wrote all of the songs included in the recent Danish bestseller, the 'Rock and Roll Cookbook', a multi-media cookbook from Carsten Olsen, one of Denmark's most well-known chefs. Along with the recipes are videos showing how to make the dishes and bluesy, Southwestern tunes by Weaver and Wittrock that perfectly complement this unique, fun package.

His most recent musical project s cowriter of all of the songs on the debut CD ‘Watch Me’ by Nina Massara has received glowing reviews worldwide.

Along with his musical endeavors, Ray works as a writer. He is a journalist for the Copenhagen Post in Copenhagen, Denmark and does freelance writing and translating for many Danish companies. His short stories have been published as part of the Rocking Chair Reader series created by Adams Media and in magazines and newspapers.

"A Father's Heart” is his first book, collects some his best-loved stories and songs into a multimedia package.

Ray has played concerts and festivals across the United States and in Europe. His music has been used on the Travel Channel, the WB Network and featured on radio and internet stations worldwide. Ray's books and music are available on iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby and at every live performance. For more information about live performances, check out the calendar on this website.
